The softball team beat out the Patriots at Liberty while also beating out the natural elements.

The game was a battle from the beginning with the Cougars scoring four runs in the first inning and Liberty retaliating and tying up the board. #14 Jillian James, sophomore, hit a single sending #12 Brooke Younie, sophomore, home in the second bringing the Cougars up 5-4.

The ladies kept their defense up and the offense strong as they continued to hit in runs while battling the heavy winds and dust flying in their faces.

The team finished the game with a score of 13-4 bringing their record 2-0 in conference. Their next game is Tuesday, April 8 against Basic at 3:30 p.m.
