Theater students from all over Southern Nevada debuted their own adaptation of the Addams Family Musical on November 12 and continued their nightly shows through November 15. Ranging from ensemble to lead roles, Briley Oakley, Ryan Caviola, Kailee Clement, Ryann Heinlen, and Garrett DePaulis represented Coronado High School in this multi-school production.

The directors gave Briley Oakely the chance to portray Morticia Addams on Thursday, Nov. 13, in front of an audience with a majority of Coronado supporters.

“Working with all of these talented students from different schools has been such a great experience,” DePaulis, junior, said.

The all-state production also included students from Green Valley, Silverado, Centennial, and Liberty. Tickets were $10 for students and $12 for parents. The proceeds reimbursed Liberty theater for hosting and the royalty fees paid to perform the musical.

The production is expected to tour throughout Southern Nevada. The money raised with these tours will go toward the actors’ tuition if chosen for the International Thespian Conference in Nebraska.

“It’s a rare event,” Maia Malone, a Liberty senior, said. “[There are] so many schools working together to put together one show. It’s amazing.”
