Every year, students count down to the week of no school that has come to be known as spring break. As they bite their nails in anticipation, watching the clock tick away at the last few moments of class, all they can think about is staying up late and sleeping in, except for a minority of students.

Living in one of the most iconic cities, you would think that there would be more to a teenager’s week off than computers and junk food, but the fact of the matter is that students have been overtaken by the digital era. The days of water balloon fights in the park have been long forgotten and replaced by video games and television marathons.

Maybe it is time to bring the “old break” back, the break where teenagers went on trips to the beach or camping with the family. it is time to leave the phones at home and see the world, truly see the world. It is time to fish for the first time or meet up with someone you haven’t seen in years.

Spring is all about new beginnings and what better way to ring in the last quarter of the school year with memories you will never forget?

Around this time of year, everyone needs a breather. Students are going into the final countdown, some of you are graduating and others are moving up to “the next level.”

You have the rest of the year to stay inside, take this time to explore and make new friends. High school is a time you will never forget, make sure you have incredible memories to look back on.
