The San Gennaro Feast is a Catholic Neapolitan Feast with Italian food to eat and a wide variety of different rides to choose from. The annual celebration happened in Las Vegas, starting Wednesday, May 6 and ending Sunday, May 10.

With many food stations, it was hard to choose just one place to eat. The aroma of Italian food down the streets made it feel like being in Little Italy.

Cannolis, spaghetti, pizza, and Fettuccine Alfredo were offered all around.

“The food was delicious. I ordered penne pasta with tomato sauce, garlic bread, and gelato,” Victoria Straiton, junior, said.

The Philly cheese steaks is what grabbed the attention of many. Of the numerous places that sold Philly cheese steaks, Krazy Mike’s was by far the best place.

Food was not the only thing available at the feast, there were rides and carnival games to choose from also.

“My favorite ride to go on was the Spin Out because it spun really fast and tipped us upside down. I would love to go back again for the food because I’m Italian, and it’s a tradition,” Straiton said.

The festival originally began as a one-day religious commemoration in September 1926. Catholics and Italians celebrate San Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples.
