The undefeated men’s varsity soccer team won their second game of the season at home against Arbor View 3-1 on Monday, Sept. 21.

“We prepared for this game by having a hard week of practice, and we also played a game on Wednesday. It’s really good to see all of our hard work is paying off because we won both our games this week, and I feel like it’s going to help us going into regular season,” Harrison Skinner, junior, said.

The first goal of the game was scored in the beginning of the first half due to a foul on the box causing a penalty kick by Preston Judd, junior. The Cougars dominated the first half of the game using many offensive plays and strong defense.

During the second half of the game, John Lyman, sophomore, scored a second goal with an assist by Grant Smythe, sophomore. Arbor View answered with a first goal in the middle of the second half.

Towards the end, Judd scored another goal ensuring a second win for the Cougars.

“It feels good to get a second win. It’s giving us momentum to go into the season with good team chemistry and confidence,” captain Michael Schwob, senior, said.

The next home game is Thursday, Sept. 24 at 3:00.
