Student Council invites all current seniors and alumni to breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 a.m. in the cafeteria. StuCo started the event last year to commemorate Tiare Ki’ilani Giron’s message to spread kindness. Giron, a 2014 graduate, was a member of student council who suffered a heat stroke while hiking and passed away on July 23, 2014. Family and friends continue her mission of being kind to all via the message “Ki’ip Living and Ki’ip Loving.”

“Preparation requires a lot of planning ahead of time and advertisement. Talking to businesses was really big for this event because we had to get donations for the breakfast,” Audra Sanchez, senior, said.

Students who attend will choose from bagels, fruit, and coffee. Donations from local stores made these options possible. Stores like Panera Bread, Trader Joe’s, and even Freed’s Bakery chipped in to help.

“I’m most excited about the food Panera Bread donated,” Sarah Baron, senior, said.

Student Council would also like to remind people to wear their homecoming shirts on Thursday. The glow-in-the-dark shirts are available for purchase at both lunches in the quad for $5.
