The holiday season is here, and that means it’s time to start shopping for gifts. Many companies have started monthly subscription services which are the latest method entrepreneurs are using to sell their products. With hundreds of options, there is surely a box that will suit the interests of someone on that holiday list. Buying someone their first month of a box subscription is a gift for nearly anyone to enjoy, and they can continue the subscription if they wish.
Birchbox is widely known for their beauty boxes and aims towards makeup enthusiasts, but they also have men’s subscriptions. During the holiday season Birchbox has holiday gift sets for both men and women containing various products. Some of these products include perfume samples, lip gloss, eyeshadow, foundation samples, and face care samples. Birchbox has raised a total of $71.9 million according to Subscription Commerce Insider.
“I am not currently signed up for a subscription service, but I have been wanting to try out Birchbox. It seems like it would be worth the $10 a month,” Alexis Edmonds, sophomore, said.
Fab Fit Fun is a women’s subscription containing fitness, beauty, and wellness products. The subscription costs $49.99 every three months or $179.99 annually. It includes free shipping, and every box contains more than $200 worth of products. Some of the products in Fab Fit Fun include nail polish, dietary supplements, fashion accessories, and exercise equipment like a jump rope.
There are many different types of boxes you could gift to someone based on their interests. Paper Pumpkin is a creativity box containing arts and crafts that costs $19.95/ monthly. Graze is a food subscription that has portion controlled snacks, it is priced from $6.99-$11.99. Barkbox, which is very popular among dog lovers, is a monthly box filled with dog toys and treats.
“I love the Graze box; it is filled with lots of delicious snacks that are healthy and perfect for bringing to school,” Sydni Fredricks, junior, said.
Many known department stores such as Target and Walmart have monthly boxes for a cheaper rate. Their low cost subscriptions include sample and full-size beauty products, coupons and tips on how to use the products. The seasonal boxes cost $5-$7, and can be purchased on the stores’ websites.
Whether giving a gift or treating oneself, subscription boxes may be the best thing since the sliced bread.
