A luxurious venue with a high-tech driving range offers any individual a new way to enjoy the game of golf. Top Golf, located at the MGM Grand, consists of a three story driving range with various golfing games in each section coupled with a full service of restaurant and bar and a beautiful view of the city. Prices start at $30 in floors 1 and 2, but vary depending on the day, time and stationed floor.
Top Golf offers chances for both inexperienced and experienced golfers with a unique way to play the game. Individuals can choose to bring their own clubs or choose from a variety available for each game. The players first have to decide what type of game they’re going to play, but no more than six players per team. There are eight games the players can choose from: Top Golf, Top Score, Top Pressure, Top Chip, Top Pressure Advanced, Top Shot, Top Drive, and Top Scramble. The most common games being Top Golf and Top Score.
“I went to Top Golf thinking I was going to have a terrible experience since I’ve never played golf, but I honestly had such a fun time. Their games are easy to understand and very enjoyable, and the atmosphere is great, “ Angus Young, junior, said.
Their signature game, Top Golf, consists of players scoring points by hitting the balls- each ball is assigned using microchip technology- into any target. The more accurate the shot and the farther the distance, the more points earned.
Top Score is the high-scoring version of Top Golf, which rewards for going big. The farther the target hit and the closer it gets to the center flag, the higher the multiple of points received.
“My favorite game at Top Golf is Top Score since it is a bit more challenging than their signature game, and it has more rewards,” Ethan Viator, senior, said.
In a real game of golf, the objective is to get the ball in the cup on each hole with the least amount of swings of the club. Whoever has the least amounts of swings wins the round. At Top Golf, the objective is to earn the most points by hitting the balls accurately and farther away with a system that keeps tracks of every player’s score.
Top Golf is the ultimate attraction where anyone can play golf. If an individual is looking for the perfect place to take their significant other on a date, this is it. Here, a person can impress his/her date by showing off their amazing golfing skills or it can serve as an icebreaker. It is also a great place to hangout with a group of close friends. Change Friday night bowling to Friday night golfing for a great opportunity to bond with family.
“Top Golf is such a different experience from other attractions at the Strip since it incorporates the game of golf in a way that there is no experience needed, and is super fun to go with friends or family,” Yasmine Yusof, junior, said.
