The Cougars clinched back to back Sunrise Regional championships with their win against the Falcons on Saturday night.

The Falcons were up 13 points at the half, 33-20. During halftime, Coach Kaufman ignited the team to be as good as they have all season with their 10-0 League stats. This inspired the entire team, including seniors Nick Davis, Try Hurlburt, Kennedy Koehler, Bryce Savoy, and Will Weems.

“(In the locker room), I just said, look it’s energy and effort. They have more energy than we do. Let’s pick it up. We’re better. We’re stronger. Let’s go finish it,” Coach Kaufman told the Review-Journal.

And finish it, they did. The 56-47 win sets the Cougars up to play Clark in the semi-finals at 8:15 on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Cox Pavilion.
