With lines running through the quad, students patiently wait in line to receive their Jamba Juice and Panda Express at lunch on Wednesday.

Everyday, students rush out of the halls in an attempt to beat the lines and buy their favorite foods at lunch. Throughout the school year, both clubs and sports teams deliver a variety of food choices to the students.

On Mondays, boys’ basketball sells Teriyaki Madness, on Tuesdays the senior class sells Blue Fin Sushi, on Wednesdays, broadcast sells Panda Express, and on Fridays, Student Council sells Raising Canes.

“I love how Coronado sells different food because it gives us all a chance to enjoy delicious foods at lunch at least once per week. Even though I don’t necessarily like U-Swirl and the snow cones, I love Panda Express and Raising Canes,” Keji Ajayi, freshman, said.

Club members contact and communicate with local restaurants. They have the vendors bring food to school on selling days. After all the work is done, clubs collect the money and spend it on needed items. Boys’ basketball uses the money on bus fees and the broadcast crew puts the money they earn towards new equipment.

“I like fundraising because it helps everybody out; we raise money and people like what they buy,” Dante Davis, sophomore, said.

Previously, the senior class has used their earned money to buy senior shirts, paint and supplies for the senior block party and senior sunrise. StuCo also plans to use the money to prepare for the homecoming festivities including the assembly and the bash.

“As a part of student council, we have to have funds to make events fun and enjoyable for all students,” Savanna Bergquist, sophomore class representative, said.
