The Coronado men’s varsity volleyball team had a home game against Bishop Gorman High School on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The game ended at 7:15 PM with Coronado victorious.

The first set begins and the scores are close. Coronado at 5 and Gorman at 4. Coronado at 12 and Gorman at 11. Once Coronado hits 15 points, they take the lead and it doesn’t leave their grasp from there. The energy is high from the crowd, and the teammates on the sidelines. The first set then ends with the score being 25-17. The second set begins and it’s not too much different. The final score was 25-15.

“That was our second win against Bishop Gorman, and it was a nice feeling since they are in our division,” Coach Matthew Johnson said. “Division wins are important for playoff seating at the end of the season.”

The varsity team was extremely coordinated. The strategic plays that were made throughout the game were perfectly done. From the serve, blocks, and strikes it was all timed just right. The varsity team did an amazing job at working together and giving it 150%.

“It feels really nice when they are having a good time,” said Coach Johnson. “When they [the players] are having a good time they are usually doing well and actually relaxed on the court.”

The third set begins and it’s the quickest set of the night. The set’s final score was 25-9. The volleyball team is currently undefeated. Congratulations to the volleyball team’s win.
