72% of the world’s population uses social media, according to socialmediatoday.com. Though many people believe that Facebook is diminishing in value, it has over 1.15 billion users, while the increase in Twitter feed only has 550 million users and only 215 million of those users are active every month. With the expanding use of social media, it can become hard to understand how to keep information fresh and relevant to the growing social mediaists.

For all of the insta lovers, Statigr.am allows instagramers to check their picture popularity. On this website, instagram users can look at percentages on how many likes and comments were received on a picture. There are two separate categories: the love rate and the talk rate. Love rate orders pictures from most liked to least liked. While talk rate orders them based on number of comments received. Statigr.am also allows users to create a patchwork of their latest 50 photos and use it as their Facebook cover. Statigr.am has a contest page; use the hashtag associated with the contest, and see which picture will win.

Before taking that selfie to the next level in insta, don’t forget to check Twitter’s content on the new gossip. Topsy.com allows a tweeter to search for old posts, which could help when trying to show a friend what was said about a certain person or about a certain topic.

Another posting website is tweetchat.com. Tweetchat allows users to hold their own twitter conversations by using a specific hashtag. Just create a hashtag, spread the hashtag to those waiting to talk and start up a conversation that only the holders of the hashtag can comment on.

Hashtags are becoming more difficult to understand in postings the more they are used, #forreal. Hashtags have basically become a must when on social media. It is a basic #true #ornah situation when trying to decide what to use on a post. Tagdef.com is a hashtag dictionary that allows users to search the trending hashtags that aren’t as well known. So now that tool pic on instagram #swole know what they did at the gym, #legday.

Start winding down from all of the Twitter drama, and into some celeb drama with a good magazine. Issuu.com allows readers to take a sneak peek into the newest issue for free. This site also allows users to fully read an older issue of the magazine, and can be used to create original magazines. The next Steve Forbes, of Forbes magazine, could emerge from issuu publishing.

Time to close the magazine and do homework. That partner video project is due soon, but they’re too busy to meet and start the project.  Popcorn.webmaker.org is a video creation site that allows users to search content off of Flickr, YouTube, Sound Cloud, and Giphy. This site also allows users to collaborate with someone in order to create a video masterpiece.

These sites may prove to be helpful to the average social mediaist in order to survive amid the growing trends. Instead of being stuck in the cyber kinetic dust, they may be able to remain on track with the expanding usage of social media.
