The famous Cane’s sauce, the warm slice of Texas toast, the scrumptious french fries, and, of course, the mouthwatering chicken tenders have arrived in Henderson. After months of anticipation, the Raising Cane’s that many have been anxiously waiting for is really here. The new location opened Friday, Sept. 12,  at 3023 St. Rose Parkway, less than a mile and a half from school.

“We finally made the decision to open up a location in Henderson because residents have been asking for one for years. The other locations are a far drive from Henderson, and it just made sense to open one here,” David Montenegro, the Assistant General Manager of the new Cane’s, said.

Montenegro believes the restaurant gets a lot of support from the local high schools.

“We always have students coming in after school, not just on opening day, but all the time,” Montenegro said.

Students from Coronado went to the grand opening of Raising Cane’s after school to hang with friends and eat a late lunch. The lines were out the door, and the booths were packed with students.

“I went to Cane’s after school because it’s my favorite restaurant, and I’m so happy they have finally opened one in Henderson,” Natalie Lyen, junior, said.

The managers were expecting it to be busy, so the employees received training to ensure they were ready. The manager stressed the importance of the employees having fun at work and applied that in training prior to opening day.

“Our other locations are still usually busy, so I definitely knew it was going to be crowded on this location’s opening day,” Montenegro said.

With a new location so close to school, many students will be heading to Cane’s.

“I definitely think that a lot of students will come to Cane’s. We had training the day before opening to make sure we all were ready,” Coronado senior Haley Lanphear  said.

Raising Cane’s originated in Louisiana in 1996 and has since expanded to over 50 restaurants in 17 states.

The first Cane’s location in Nevada opened in Las Vegas in 2012.
