Students gathered in the lunchroom after school on Thursday, Oct. 30, to take part in the annual PB & J-A-Thon, an event that helps provide food for local homeless shelters. Members from National Honors Society, Leo Club, and Key Club were in charge of the event.

“It’s really great seeing everyone come out to support such a great cause, and it feels good knowing I am helping other people,” Key Club member Bianca Weyers, freshman, said.

The students set up an assembly line technique to get all the sandwiches made. All of the food was then donated to a local homeless shelter.

“It was lot of work, but I am happy I got to participate in an event that supports such a great cause,” Key Club member Vanessa Vidas, freshman, said. “I hope they will continue to have the PB & J-A-Thon because I will definitely volunteer to do it again next year,” Vidas said.

Many students donated supplies, as well as their free time to ensure all the sandwiches were made.

“I love knowing so many students are willing to spend their time helping others. It’s the best feeling in the world,” Vidas said.
