The women’s varsity volleyball team won their second State Championship game against Shadow Ridge on Saturday, Nov. 15, with final scores of 25-23, 25-15, and 25-16.

“I feel super proud of my team and all that we did to make it here. We knew that we could win. We just had to play our best, and we did,” varsity player Emily Bender, junior, said.

Since it was a state game, Bender thinks it was rare the game only went to three sets. She was also shocked by the amount they won each set.

With their banquet on Tuesday and this year at an end, the team looks to next year and is confident in a third championship win for next season.

“I’m very confident that we can win next season. We have five returning starters, and this year gives us an opportunity to get even better,” Bender said.
