Run by radio station 107.5, the Holiday Havoc festival took place in the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Hotel on Dec. 8 and 9. Split into two days and chock-full of performances, Holiday Havoc’s lineup catered to the fans of the headliners with big names in the alternative scene.

On day one, pop-punk band Blink-182 was the main attraction. Hailing from Poway, California, the band consists of original members Mark Hoppus (vocals) and drummer Travis Barker, as well as former Alkaline Trio member Matt Skiba on guitar and backup vocals.

“I wish I could have gone on the first day to see Blink-182,” said Hailey Knowles, 11.

The first day performances also included rock band Jimmy Eat World – best known for their hit song “The Middle,” and Pierce the Veil, a pop punk band who just released their latest album Misadventures. Weather, a rising indie rock band formed in 2015, and UK rock band, The Hunna, also performed.

For day two’s lineup, Weezer headlined. They are a rock band formed in LA with hit songs from the 90s to present day, including “Say It Ain’t So,” “Island in the Sun,” and “Beverly Hills.”

Also in the lineup for later that night were Grouplove, an indie rock band, British alternative group Catfish and the Bottlemen, as well as, Saint Motel, The Moth and the Flame, and 888.

“I love Grouplove because they have great songs to just scream to until you can’t breathe,” said Carlos Gonzalez, 11.
