Invincible follows a teen named Mark Grayson (Steven Yuen). Trying to live up to his parents expectations, but it can be hard especially when your dad is Omni-Man. The most powerful superhero on the planet.Little does he know, his father isn’t who he thought he was. With an assortment of side plots, fascinating characters, and a thrilling ending that still has its fans talking, it’s no surprise that the Amazon Original show Invincible is preparing for another season.

The extremely successful season one debuted on March 21, 2021, and shortly after its release, Amazon announced they would be renewing the hit show for a second season. The first season held a 98% approval rating based on 88 critics from Rotten Tomatoes, and among audiences, it was rated at a 92% overall.

One of the reasons for Invincible’s popularity was its wide range of talented voice actors. Season one included major actors such as J.K Simmons, Mark Hamill, and Seth Rogan. New/upcoming actors were also cast in season one, including the lead character Mark Grayson voiced by Steven Yuen. Yuen went on to star in science-fiction horror film Nope, written, directed, and produced by Oscar and Emmy-award winner Jordan Peele. New voice actors confirmed for season two include Chloe Bennett, known for her role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,. Calista Flockhart, most commonly known for playing Cat Grant in Supergirl, and Daveed Diggs who played Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton.

The stacked cast is making it hard for fans to contain their excitement about the new season approaching. During the SanDiego Comic Con (SDCC) that took place over the summer, it was announced that the first half of season two will be premiering on November 3, 2023. The second half of the season will be released the following year in early 2024. However, some fans weren’t ecstatic about the news that season two would be released in two separate parts. Many fans took to online social media platforms to convey their anger.

In hopes of keeping the fans occupied until season two arrives, Amazon released a prequel special at SDCC on July 21 as well. It is one episode in length and centered around Atom-Eve, one of the superheroes previously introduced in season one.

Let’s hope this one episode will satisfy the fans, until November 3rd at least.
