After an alleged hiatus, senior superlatives are back. From Wednesday, Feb 26 to Friday, Feb 28, seniors can take their votes to tallyspace.com/vote/list/738.

Previously, senior superlatives were voted on during senior English classes. The change in voting venue arose when many students campaigned during classes to get votes. Now, students are encouraged to vote for their peers in private, where they cannot be pressured to vote a certain way.

This year there are 28 different categories. Every senior is in the running for each category. That way, each student has an equal chance of winning. It is not required to put a vote in for every category.

“I think this system adds a lot more legitimacy to the titles,” Cassidy Tavcar, senior, said.

The change was organized by the yearbook staff, Mrs. Thompson, the yearbook adviser, and members of Student Council who set up the online system.

Voting closes on Friday, Feb 28. The elected students, from Best Smile to Best Dressed, will be featured at the senior assembly on May 30 and in the yearbook for all students to see for years to come.
