Coronado’s 2015-2016 annual Student Council elections took place Feb. 5 and 6. Students voted online at tinyurl.com/coronadovote.
All students, except for outgoing seniors, were eligible to vote online. Voting polls were closed on Friday, Feb. 6 at two o’clock, and winners were announced Monday.
Candidates campaigned with posters and banners throughout school halls in the quads, each trying to win the vote of the student body. Sarah Baron, ran for Student Council with a purpose, not just for the feeling and accomplishment of winning.
“I have been in Student Council since seventh grade, so I have lots of experience. I want to make Coronado a homey place and help improve the school,” Sarah Barron, elected First Vice President, said.
Student representatives must be committed to the elected position, as they may be required to attend monthly meetings. Common goals set for the council are to promote student and faculty spirit and unity throughout the year.
“I will make a difference by implementing new improved forms of spirit. I want to see Coronado be the best it can be, and I would love to help our school achieve exactly that,” Rami Khalaf, elected Student Body President , said.
Class representative elections will be held online March 2 through March 6.
