Dance Moms is the reality TV show that hooked viewers’ attention for eight straight seasons. The show where young girls join the Abby Lee Dance Company, in which Abby Lee has them compete weekly in dance competitions performing different dances. Since Miller’s release from prison from fraud, it’s time to revisit the show. Even though the show focuses on these girls, the main stars are the moms. After all, the show is called Dance Moms, emphasis on the “moms” for a reason. Their scripted arguments, actions, and dramatics make the show a must-watch. Whether they are scripted or not, it’s no secret that some of these dance moms just outshine the rest, so here is a ranking of who is the true dance mom.
- Kelly Hyland
Third on this list is Kelly, the mother of Brook and Paige. The two girls were famous for their acro (type of dance that includes both classical and acrobatic elements) style dance. Like the two girls, Kelly was a beloved cast member, she brought life to the show and definitely made it more interesting to watch. She wasn’t afraid to call out the wrongs that Abby was partaking in throughout the show. Kelly was very supportive of her daughters; whether it was for their dances or something school related (such as Brook’s cheerleading) she supported them with everything.
- Christi Lukasiak
Coming in second place is Christi. Christi is the mother of Chloe Lukasiak, who was known for performing all kinds of dances except ballroom dancing. She was one of the more confrontational mothers in the show. She stood up for her daughter when she was being mistreated, even harassed, by their dance coach Abby Lee Miller, who kept nitpicking at everything just because she did not like the girl. Christi was also one of the few moms to call out the favoritism that occurred in the dance studio. She had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. Christi was definitely a memorable part of the show.
- Holly Frazier
On the top of our list is Holly, the mother of Nia, one of the original girls that became famous for her death drop (a move where the performer falls to the ground with one leg extended and the other bent at the knee). Holly is the best of the best, she was calm and never on anyone’s bad side. She was one of the only mothers who took care of everyone. Although she wasn’t very confrontational, like Christi and Kelly, Holly still made sure she was heard. She’s an intellectual and helped everyone with their problems. If you were to describe her in a single word, the most accurate description would be a guardian.
Dance Moms was entertaining for all ages. The performances and especially the drama in the show are what made it so iconic. At least now the debate for the top mom has finally come to an end, with Holly Frazier coming out on top of the pyramid.
