Audrey Hepburn is known for her timeless style that is adored and desired by everyone from the 1950s to today. If you are one of these people, then all you have to do is listen to the woman herself, Ms. Hepburn.

She once said, “My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses.”

Big sunglasses and a sleeveless LBD (little black dress) is what Ms. Hepburn sported in her illustrious role in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Step one to achieving the most-wanted style are accessories and the simplicity of them. To perfectly complete your look, add either a scarf (they have infinite possibilities), big sunglasses, or a string of pearls. Ms. Hepburn, unlike some of today’s icons, never had too much going on regarding her fashion. She kept it simple to let the world see her as a person, not as her outfits.

Although she passed in 1993, Ms. Hepburn’s iconic style symbolizes being different by avoiding trends, “Why change? Everyone has [their] own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it, Ms. Hepburn explained.

She was different and frankly, unconventional, so she voiced how important it was to be who you are, especially through clothes. Hepburn considered clothes to be the prime way of self-expression.

She said, “The way [a woman] looks [is] just so much like the way [a woman is]. There was just no separation between [a] woman and her clothes.” She never followed what’s “in” and dressed for herself.

Ms. Hepburn inspires us to dress the way we are, not like anyone else and to stray from trends.

Ms. Hepburn also embodies the true meaning of elegance. Whether walking the streets of Paris or accepting an Oscar, she always looked dignified. Not only was her appearance classy, but her personality was too.

Ms. Hepburn was a strong believer in charity, kindness, and illustrating the gracefulness of a woman.

She once said, “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” As long as you act as poised as you can, you will be beautiful. That is the utmost you can do for yourself and the people who surround you.

Audrey Hepburn was one-of-kind, she was nominated for five Academy Awards, won one, and worked with Unicef. She not only wanted to leave the world with an unforgettable style, but also with an understanding of right and wrong. Through Ms. Hepburn’s style and wisdom you can learn how to be the best version of you. By keeping simplicity in mind when putting your outfits together, expressing yourself through your clothes, and embracing elegance, you can acquire the iconic, cherished style of Audrey Hepburn.
