Student Council released a poll on the Coronado StuCo twitter account in which students were given three options for the theme of this year’s spring week: Out of the Galaxy, Coronopoly, and High School Musical. With 73% of the votes, High School Musical won the ballot.

“I think that it is cool that they are letting the students decide what they want,” Georgia Price, junior, said.

The Friday before the spirit week begins, Student Council will host the annual spring assembly where underclassmen will wear white and upperclassmen will wear red, an allusion to the famed East High Wildcats. The assembly will begin at 1:20 p.m.

High School Musical Week starts Monday, March 14 and ends on Friday, March 18. Monday will kick off the week-long celebration with Spring “Musicale” Day. Students can come to school clad in their favorite band or concert tee.

As tradition dictates, Tuesday will be twin day, but with a twist. Students can dress as Ryan and Sharpay Evans, everyone’s favorite performing twins from the HSM trilogy.

“I’m most excited for Ryan and Sharpay day because I love twinning with my best friends,” June Waller, sophomore, said.

Mathletes vs. Athletes Day gives students the opportunity to dress in their favorite sports teams’ jerseys or pay homage to their scholarly sides.

Student Council encourages students to dress up in their favorite country club attire for Lava Springs Country Club Day, where all golfers, millionaires, and frat guy look-a-likes are welcome.

Students will get a head start on their spring break on Fabulous Splash Friday when Cougars can come to school decorated in tropical and beachy attire. That means Hawaiian shirts and khaki shorts are more than welcome.

“It’s shocking and kind of sad that this will be my last spring spirit week,” Sarah Baron, senior, said. “Spring week has always been my favorite because we get the most participation and spirit, plus we always showcase our best themes during spring week. It’s something I love participating in, and it’s crazy that this will be my last year.”

The last spirit week of the year is expected to make a splash with students and while they know students are “Breaking Free,” administration would like to remind everyone that dress code will be enforced.
