With spring break approaching, it may seem tempting to stay home all week and binge watch Netflix. Instead, bust your boredom with these fun activities that won’t break the bank.

Make a splash

What better time to take a dip in the pool than spring break? Spend the day laying out by the pool, tanning this March. You can also opt for a fun-filled day at Cowabunga Bay or Wet n’ Wild for $34.99, which both open on March 19, just in time for spring break.

Take a hike

With perfect weather, March is a prime time to take a hike. Hiking can also help burn some calories, all while still having fun exploring nature. The best thing about this outdoor activity is that it is completely free. Grab some friends and go on a hike at Red Rock, or hike to Goldstrike Canyon in Boulder city.

Indulge in your sweet tooth

As the weather warms up, keep cool with some frosty treats. Ice cream, snow cones, milkshakes, oh my! A walk to the local ice cream parlor or snow cone shack with close friends can make for a refreshing snack on a warmer day. Head down to Yogurtland on Stephanie Ave. or Ben & Jerry’s at The District for a cold treat to keep you cool.

Movie marathon

Gather a group of friends and have a movie marathon. It can be hours upon hours of rom-coms, horror movies, or even Harry Potter movies. Popcorn, candy, and tons of blankets and pillows are essentials for this activity.

Play a game

Although it may seem boring to play board games at first glance, there’s a reason the classic games are still so beloved today. Have a family game night and play non-stop Sorry and Life, or challenge your pals to a game of messy Twister, using paint as the dots for an updated version of an old favorite.

Explore the city

Although The Strip may seem like a place we know too well, there are surprisingly many low-budget activities to do within our very own Las Vegas. Visit the beautiful flower display in the Arboretum at the Bellagio, or visit the art display in downtown Las Vegas. Visits to both of these places are great photo-ops, so make sure to bring a camera.

Not every spring break needs to be spent on some tropical beach away from home to be considered great. Make the best of your spring break with these low-budget enjoyable activities, and it will be one that you’re sure to remember.
