Varsity women’s basketball was defeated 75-36 in a heated game at Bishop Gorman on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The girls prepared for this game for weeks, doing extensive drills to be ready to take on their rivals.

“We play lots of scrimmage games against each other to get better, and we always practice our plays,” Tia Thornton, sophomore, said.

The game began quickly, with Gorman taking the first quarter for themselves, leading the game 23-9. Gorman made 15 fouls in the first quarter; many of them were personal fouls.

“There was a lot of pressure building up to the game, and a lot of people were talking about how we needed to get our things together and play harder than any other teams,” Teagan Varrati, sophomore, said.

The ladies fell to the Gaels, 75-36. This loss taught them what they have to do in the future.

“When we work as a team we play better, but we tend to not do that and that’s why the game was how it was,” Cameron Walker, junior, said.
