The varsity football team was victorious in their game against Bonanza on Friday with a score of 41-0.

“It’s a great start to the season, and I can’t wait to see where our Cougars take us,” Katie Alewel, senior, said.

After kick off, the Cougars scored two touchdowns against Bonanza’s zero in the first quarter, setting the score at 14-0. By halftime, Coronado remained in the lead 21-0.

“I felt we played like the tough and strong football team we really are,” Nigel Purnell, junior, said. “After we won, it was the greatest feeling in the world; nothing is better than winning,” Purnell said.

Finishing off fourth quarter 41-0, the Cougars secured their victory, and the roar of the crowd was deafening.

“We’ve been working hard preparing for our games against Green Valley and Foothill. It’s a great start to the season,” Coach Talich said.
