The men’s and women’s varsity tennis teams defeated Rancho on their home courts Friday, winning almost all of their sets.

The women’s team won 14-4 and the men’s team won 15-3.

“I feel really good about this match, I was pretty confident that we would win. I feel like you are never given a win, you always have to work for it, which is what we did,” Sam Grant, senior, said.

Nikoleta Nikoloff, junior, and  Hannah Grossman, sophomore, won both of their sets 6-0.  Kyle Harris, senior, won his matches 6-0 and 6-1, and Ryland McDermott, senior, won his match 6-0.

“I hit some aces which were good. I was really pumped for this match because I knew we were going to do great.  Overall everything went really well,” Grossman said.

The tennis teams will head into their next home match on Tuesday Sept. 29 against Foothill at 3:00 p.m.
