Trying to avoid infection, survivors blaze past incoming zombie teachers

Dodging teachers, students raced around the track for the second annual Zombie Run on Thursday, Nov. 2. Connor Hadley was the last survivor, earning himself a $50 gift card to U-swirl. The run wasn’t all fun and games though; Coronado also raised $680, selling 135 tickets, for the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting.

“We’ve collected the money, but we still need to meet to choose which go-fund-me or program we’ll give the money to,” Mr. Poleski, AP Executive Council adviser, said.

The AP Executive Council organized the run; they began planning in August, collecting prize donations and selling tickets. Student Council also contributed to the event by grilling hotdogs for an after-run snack.

“Grilling for the zombie run was really fun to help the AP Executive Council out and to see all the kids and faculty enjoying themselves at the great event and cause,” Nolan Phan, senior, said.

The AP Executive Council plans to continue the infant tradition in the years to come. The run will benefit new charities and meet needs in our community.

“I had so much fun with my friends even though we were just walking. It was a fun, easy way to support an excellent cause,” Matea Zelich, sophomore, said.
