On Tuesday, October 11 the Varsity Cross Country team trotted around Seven Hills during their home meet. The Cougars ran incredibly well with all top 7 girls and all top 3 boys being Coronado runners. The boys took off at 3:30 pm and the girls following at 4 pm. The girls came in first with 15 points and the boys with 19 points.

“The Coronado Weekday meet went really well for everyone,” senior Autumn Viscardo said. “The girls got a perfect score which is amazing and great for our team. I am proud of our team and everyone that raced.”

The route consisted of several steep hills and drops meaning that runners had to pace themselves well. The competitors came from Liberty, Green Valley, and Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. Coming in first was Kathryn Higgins with a time of 20:56 followed by Ella Hone and Brookelynn Miller. Coming in first for the boys is William Higgins with a time of 16:36 followed by Jackson Graham and Kaden Vermillion.

“The meet went really well,” senior Alana Sangprasit said. “We had a perfect score and a good performance.”

You can spot the team making another attempt at taking all the top spots at Canyon Springs on Saturday, October 15th at 8 am.
