On March 24 and 25, the Coronado Swim team faced off against Palo Verde in a dual meet. The final results for women were Coronado 159 and Palo 122. The men lost 113 to 154.

“There were many good swims, the women swam well and a lot of people were impressed or surprised with the times they got,” coach Bloom said. “Overall everyone could clean up their turns, but I was really happy with a lot of the way people raced. Brek brought back ‘the Cougar call’ and that was really nostalgic because it was a ritual that some swimmer did a couple of years ago.”

Lots of relays took place over the course of Friday and Saturday, and the women came out on top frequently: they got first place in the 200 Medely with a time of 1:57:18. The men received second place in their 200 Medely with a time of 1:41:37.

“I didn’t swim my best, my turns were sloppy and the speed wasn’t there. I know what I need to do next time and I want to be able to look back and say that I tried my best,” senior captain Dominik Toth said.

Next week at 12:30 on Saturday, April 1, Coronado will face off against Green Valley at the Henderson Multigenerational Center.
